Apple’s new Apple Intelligence platform is designed to work seamlessly across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro devices. It blends two layers of AI:
On-device models for fast, secure actions like rewriting emails, creating Genmoji, or using Image Playground—all processed without leaving your device.
Server-based models for heavier tasks, securely handled in the cloud using Apple’s Private Compute architecture.
Key Features:
Smart Writing Tools: Rewrite, summarize, and change tone directly inside Mail, Notes, and third-party apps.
Image Playground & Genmoji: Create images and custom emojis instantly using AI, all processed locally.
Contextual Awareness: Understands what's on your screen and suggests actions—like adding events, finding files, or asking ChatGPT.
Live Translation: Real-time multilingual translation in Messages, FaceTime, and Phone calls.
All of this is powered by Apple’s own Foundation Models, and when needed, users can optionally access ChatGPT via Siri—with full transparency and permission prompts.
Apple emphasizes privacy-first AI, with encryption, on-device processing, and private server compute—distinguishing its approach from other big tech offerings.
